Psp Go

Something amazing happened in the tech geek world this week, some very kind but soon to be fired employee at Sony released information on their newest Handeld Console.

The PSP Go

I bought the original Sony Psp and still keep it close to my heart,  it has my pictures, movies, music and of course games, however it was begining to feel a little bit outdated.

This new Psp looks amazing, sony as usual has created a peice of technology that is art in itself.  The clean shiny black surface just screams expensive, style and future.  Something my old psp with the handprints and coffee stains just wasent anymore.

The newest and most exiting new change for me personally, is its new slide mechanic. Very similar to some mobile phones.

Agian having a strange tech fetish, is probably why im soo exited about the Psp Go.

So withoute further adoe here are the leaked specifications:

  • 3.8-inch display (resolution is undisclosed)
  • 43 percent lighter than the PSP-3000
  • 16GB of Flash storage
  • Bluetooth built-in; supports handset tethering and BT headsets
  • No UMD drive
  • Memory Stick Micro slot
  • New Gran Turismo, Little Big Planet and new Metal Gear Solid (!) on the way
  • Full PlayStation Network support (movie and TV rentals / purchases)
  • Integration with PlayStation 3 (works the same as the PSP-3000 does)
  • Sony views each of its products as “10-year lifecycle products,” so the PSP “needs to live on.”

As you can see alot has changed most for the better!

The UMD drive on my original Psp felt a little tinny, so it feels good to get rid of that.  The fact that its lighter dosent really bother me…it wasent that heavy to begin with.

Space is something we never have enough of so 16gb worth of flash Storage is something. Although I wonder how long that will take hardcore gamers to burn through, especially with full length movies, half their i-tunes collection and a couple of Gig worth of pictures (appropriate ofcourse).  Also with the memory stick slot for optional space i suspect that will allow those hardcore gamers to bump up its storage capacity.

All in all this New hadheld device from Sony looks like it will have a very nice life on my mantle peice, loved and cared for, so that it lasts its 10year cycle.

This just being my opinion, there will always be people who think differently:

Blitzkrieg of engadget.com

states: Is it me or that thing looks..uhm…hideous? Doesn’t look like a Sony product, IMO

Paperless of engadget.com

Stated: Ugliest gadget ever.

Simbadogg of engadet.com

Stated: I wonder how long song will go until they release the Go! 2, or the Go 2000!, or w/e they wanna call the revised unit. cuz this is seriously one of the ugliest devices i’ve ever seen in my life. why is surprising, because its honestly not that difficult to design a decent looking PMP (which is basically what this is). i mean, for christs sake…the the xperia x1, instead of a keyboard add two analog sticks and 4 buttons…it’d look 10x better than this.
YUCK sony….YUCK. I wanna take some ipecac syrup to throw this up its so disgusting. what has been seen….cannot be unseen.

Personally i feel that These people and others like them need to give big companies like Sony more credit.  If all the console manurfacturers said ” if you dont like it we will just quit” there would be a whole lot of wimpering crying Game addicts.  You all know the saying “You dont know what you got until its gone

Cant wait until E3 when Sony hopefully reveals more!

until next time Samizuka!
